Hampton's hump

Aubrey Otis Hampton, US radiologist 1900-1955. A pulmonary soft tissue density seen adjacent to the pleura on chest X-ray. It is convex towards the hilum, generally at the costophrenic angle. Etiology: - pulmonary embolism - pulmonary infarction
